Alyssa Scott is feeling "at peace" a month after she lost her son with Nick Cannon, who recently announced that he is expecting his eighth child.

After hosting a gender reveal party for Bre Tiesi in Malibu, California, Sunday, Cannon confirmed that he is the father of the model's child. Following his announcement, Scott took to her Instagram Stories Monday to speak out about the news and to reveal how she's doing since her and Cannon's 5-month-old son Zen died on Dec. 5, 2021, of a brain tumor.

The 28-year-old model thanked those who have sent her supportive messages as she continues to grieve for Zen, according to screenshots of her posts obtained by People. She also said that her late son "expanded my heart in ways I never thought possible" and filled her with compassion.

"It is painful having my son be a part of conversations that aren't in alignment with his light and legacy. It isn't something I chose for him or myself," she wrote.

"It's important for me to let you all know... I am centered, I am at peace," Scott continued. "I look at everyone's predicament with loving eyes. I will not judge. I will consciously decide what I will participate in. I am surrounded by love. God, my mom, dad, sister, brother and daughter continue to carry me."

In a subsequent post, she shared a snap of Zen sleeping and told her followers that she's "eternally grateful" that she was able to spend time with him before he passed away.

According to Scott, she and Cannon, 41, had known since August last year that their son's time would be "limited" due to his brain tumor. She added that they were "fully present" and with Zen during his final days.

"We love you Zen. We got you down here, baby boy," Scott added.

Cannon confirmed that he is the father of Tiesi's baby on his eponymous talk show Monday. He spoke about his deep love for each of his children, as well as his excitement to welcome his eighth child.

According to the comedian, he had known about Tiesi's pregnancy "for a while," even before Zen's death last month.

"I wanted to definitely respect the grieving process with Alyssa, and Bre was respectful enough — she held off making our announcements and speaking on social media," Cannon explained. "She's a very, you know, in the public eye type of person, but keeps her stuff private as well."

The "Nick Cannon Show" host is dad to 10-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe, whom he shares with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

Cannon also shares 4-year-old Golden and 1-year-old Powerful Queen with Brittany Bell, as well as 7-month-old twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir with Abby De La Rosa. He welcomed Zen with Scott in June last year.

Last week, Cannon posted on Instagram that he was "still missing" his "little dude" Zen a month after his death.

"His spirit and brightness were soo strong," the actor captioned the post, which showed him posing with five of his children.
